Hosted by the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) and run by RSPSoc, Wavelength 2026 is a two-day conference that brings together early career researchers from academia and industry to share ideas, build confidence, and grow professional networks in an inclusive and welcoming environment.

What is Wavelength 2026?

Wavelength 2026 is an early careers conference that celebrates the diversity and real-world impact of contemporary remote sensing research. It provides a supportive platform for early career researchers to present their work to peers through oral presentations and poster sessions, helping attendees build confidence, gain constructive feedback, and increase the visibility of their research.

A key strength of Wavelength is its wide-ranging scope. Research across areas such as Earth observation, urban development and infrastructure, disaster and risk monitoring, and geological and environmental processes is all welcomed. By bringing together work from across the remote sensing spectrum, the conference fosters cross-disciplinary exchange and offers an ideal environment to explore new applications, methods, and perspectives beyond your immediate research focus.

What’s Included?

A detailed schedule will be shared closer to the event, but attendees can expect a varied and engaging programme, including:

  • Keynote talks from leading experts in remote sensing and related fields (speakers to be announced)
  • Hands-on practical workshops designed to strengthen hard skills relevant to remote sensing research and industry
  • Exclusive lab tours of NPL’s satellite instrumentation calibration facilities

  • Concession tickets: £24
