Refund Policy

About Us

RSPSoc is a registered charity in England and Wales. Our membership scheme exists to support our charitable purposes and further our public benefit objectives.

Membership fees are applied directly to delivering our charitable activities, programmes, and operational costs.

Membership Fees Are Non-Refundable

All membership fees, whether paid monthly or annually, are non-refundable.

As a registered charity:

Membership payments are treated as funds applied toward our charitable purposes.
Once received, funds are allocated to support our work and cannot ordinarily be returned.
No partial or prorated refunds will be provided for unused membership periods.
By purchasing or renewing membership, you acknowledge and agree to these terms.

Statutory Cooling-Off Rights (Distance Sales)

If you purchase membership online, by phone, or by other distance means, you may have a legal right to cancel within 14 days under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

If you cancel within 14 days:

  • You may receive a refund unless you requested membership benefits to begin immediately.
  • If benefits have begun at your request, we may deduct a proportionate amount reflecting services already provided.
  • If services have been fully performed during the 14-day period with your consent, your cancellation right may be lost.
  • To exercise this right, you must notify us in writing within 14 days of purchase.

Cancellation of Ongoing Membership

Members may cancel at any time by emailing:

Cancellation will:

  • Stop future payments or renewals.
  • Not entitle you to a refund for the current membership period.
  • Not result in a prorated refund.
  • Membership benefits will remain active until the end of the paid term unless otherwise determined by the charity.

Automatic Renewals

Where membership renews automatically:

  • It is the member’s responsibility to cancel before the renewal date.
  • Renewal payments are non-refundable once processed, except where required by law.
  • Renewal terms are clearly disclosed at the point of sign-up.

Events, Donations & Additional Payments

Fees for events, merchandise, workshops, or other services may be subject to separate terms.

Voluntary donations made to the charity are non-refundable except in cases of administrative error.

Termination by the Charity

The charity reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership where a member breaches our governing documents, Code of Conduct, or acts contrary to the charity’s interests.

In such cases, no refund will be issued.

Charity Law Compliance

As trustees of a registered charity, we are legally required to apply charitable funds solely toward our charitable purposes. Refunds may only be issued where:

  • Required by law
  • Payment was made in error
  • Exceptional circumstances apply and trustees determine that issuing a refund is in the charity’s best interests and legally permissible

Statutory Rights

Nothing in this policy limits your statutory rights under:

  • The Consumer Rights Act 2015
  • The Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013
  • Applicable charity law
