University of Leicester’s Graduate Internship Programme 2026 –

This programme enables organisations across the UK to host a fully salary-funded graduate intern for 6 weeks (25 hours per week), with the University covering the cost at National Living Wage (150 hours in total). Internships will run from Monday 17 August to Friday 25 September 2026 .

Employers define the internship project based on their business needs, making this a great opportunity to bring in fresh talent to support key activities, while also contributing to graduate employability. Internships can be delivered in-person, remotely, or via a hybrid model.

FOREST RESEARCH INSTITUTE

Research Assistant/Assistant Professor (Postdoctoral Researcher)

The Forest Research Institute (Department of Geomatics) in Sękocin Stary, Poland, is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher (Research Assistant/Assistant Professor) to join an NCN OPUS 29 project focused on assessing structural and biodiversity changes in the Białowieża Forest using airborne laser scanning and multispectral imagery.

This 30-month position (starting 1 August 2026) offers a competitive salary of up to PLN 140,000 per year (gross employer cost) and the opportunity to work within an interdisciplinary research team. The successful candidate will analyze remote sensing and environmental data, develop geospatial methods for ecological research, publish scientific results, and present findings at conferences.

Applicants should hold a PhD in a relevant field (e.g., forestry, environmental sciences, geoinformation, ecology, or data science), have experience with GIS, spatial data analysis, and remote sensing, possess programming skills in R and/or Python, demonstrate a strong publication record, and be fluent in English. Experience in ecology, biodiversity, or forest ecosystems is an advantage.
